I’m Happy

I’m happy
Life is still hard
I don’t have enough food
I’m still broke
I’m still waiting on the judge’s decision
My car still needs fixing
(soon to be remedied)
Bill collectors call me every day
My family mostly ignores me
BUT
I
AM
HAPPY
I’m watching someone I care for deeply
Struggle with all life is heaping on him
At times he feels he doesn’t know
Just how much more he can take
But I am happy
I am happy because he is in my life
I am happy because I am getting the chance
To be there for him when he needs me
I am happy because I am getting the chance
To treat him the way he deserves to be treated
I am happy because he accepts me for me
And treats me wonderfully
And he finds me most beautiful
When I don’t wear makeup
I am happy because he is strong and loyal
And he has a good heart
I am happy because he has two precious little boys
He calls them his heart and soul
And he is the most devoted father I have ever met
He is my Superman
I am happy
